Secret Number Two To A Waste Free Lunch

July 29, 2008

Continuing in our series of ‘Secrets to a Waste Free Lunch’, here’s tip number two:

~Give kids real silverware and cotton napkins instead of their disposable counterparts.

Fabkins Cloth Napkins

Our suggestion for cloth napkins is Fabkins.  Make mealtime more fun, reduce paper waste, and teach environmental awareness.  That’s Fabkins mantra and that is environmentally responsible.  Fabkins are soft, durable, and sized to fit your child’s lap and lunchbox.  Statistics show that American’s use over 2000 paper napkins per year, and Fabkins is doing their part to reduce this waste and teach children to be environmentally aware.  Read our feature of Fabkins.

Secret Number One To A Waste Free Lunch

July 28, 2008

School’s right around the corner, so here is tip number one for packing a waste free lunch.

~Store beverages and food in reusable packaging.

My Sigg

Our suggestion for beverages is a Sigg.  With over 100 bottles and so many interchangeable caps to choose from, you can select from more than 1,000 possibilities. After all, it’s not what you drink, it’s what you drink it in.  And in this case, drinking out of a My Sigg bottle reduces the waste from lunches.  Check out Sigg.

Wrap-N-Mat

Our suggestion for food is a Wrap-N-Mat.  Wrap-N-Mat wraps are the only re-usable sandwich wrap and placemat in one. Simply place the sandwich or other snack food on the mat and fold the Wrap-N-Mat wrap from left to right, top to bottom. Close the hook and loop tab; it’s that easy. Once opened, the placemat feature works great at work, school cafeterias or picnic tables.  Check the Wrap-N-Mat.
