As the saying goes, “Necessity is the mother of invention.” This is certainly true for the founder of nomie baby! After trying to clean up spilled formula from a car seat, she thought to herself, ‘There has to be an easier way. Why isn’t there a bib for the car seat?’ And there you have it, an idea was born.
The nomie baby car seat cover is a cozy, removable, washable and waterproof cover for infant and toddler/convertible car seats. No more struggling to remove the car seat from the car, or wrestling to disassemble the straps. The nomie baby car seat cover is designed with elastic edges so it easily slips over the existing cover, and the Velcro openings allow the straps to slip through, then when it gets dirty, and you know it will, simply slip it off, throw it in the washing machine and dryer, and start all over again. The nomie baby car seat cover is a hassle-free way to make parent’s lives easier! AND, with a suggested retail price of $34 it is an inexpensive way to make hand me downs new again, and extend the life of your car seat.

Lauren says:
I don’t like the idea. There are tonnes of warning out there about not using after market products with your car seats as they can interfere with how well your seat will work in a car accident. The fabric on this cover will go between the child and the seat, plus it isn’t clear that the openings are actually large enough to accommodate the strap positioning on all car seats. Safety is too important to compromise in my opinion.

It’s good idea with the bib. But I also agree with Lauren, if only the fabric is very thin but not slippery. Anyway, the main reason for buying a car seat is safety.
