What is RSS?
One of the things I love about being a part of Popular Baby Products is the incredible stories that I hear from WAHMs all over the world. With every product we feature, there’s always a story behind it. HeartMommy is one of those companies who has a very inspirational story behind it. It’s best summed up by the email I received:
My love for my son, who came to me through adoption in 2002, is all encompassing. When he was born his birthmother named me his HeartMommy and herself his TummyMommy.
She was college freshman and had waited until late in her pregnancy to decide if adoption was the best choice for her child. After careful consideration, she decided that adoption was going to allow her child to have something more than she could give him. After she spent four days with him in the hospital and chose us to be her child’s parents, she graciously handed him to us. When this happened, my joy and pain were equally palpable. Joy for being a mother and having my son and pain in knowing that his TummyMommy would return to her life as a student without the support she had received while pregnant.
As is often the case, a birthmother is given a great deal of attention and support while pregnant, but after placement of the baby, they leave with the memories of giving birth, seeing their child and little, if any, post placement support.
Soon after coming home with our son, I began to draw a design that served as a reminder of his TummyMommy. After being connected with a jewler, also a HeartMommy, we created the Original HeartMommy pendant.
This all came to be because of the choice of my son’s birthmom, TummyMommy. My whole life and the world as I know it has changed because of her amazing spirit.
HeartMommy creates comforting gifts for Mom and Baby. Partial proceeds go to the foundation created to assist birthmothers after placement of their child. The KO Foundation is named after my son’s TummyMommy. The motto is to ‘“KO”- knock out life with forward movement’. Whether that means going to school, pursuing a vocation or getting much needed support after the birth of a child.
There are now two styles of the pendant, the Original and the Eternity pendant. They range from an all diamond piece to a simple silver piece; all beautiful. These are available at HeartMommy.
