What is RSS?
I remember playing with Lawn Darts growing up. We used to play with them all the time and then, what seemed like overnight, they were gone. I mourned the loss of my Lawn Darts for all of 10 minutes after I found a new game to play.
First of all, what were my parents thinking letting us play with Lawn Darts? Secondly, who thought Lawn Darts were a good idea for kids? Did my parents not think that they posed a hazard to us? Were we that responsible? Doubtful.
Anyway, the brilliant company, John Jaques & Son, decided it was time to bring back the safe game of Lawn Darts to our kids. Thankfully, the CPSC realized that “The darts in the games pose a puncture hazard to young children. Lawn darts were banned in December 1988 to protect children from skull, face and eye puncture wounds.”
Kidlet Nation has a list of some recent Children’s Toy Recalls that you should check out and return if you own them. In my opinion, Lawn Darts are the most staggering on the list. BE SAFE!

Just last year I visited my parent’s home and found our old lawn darts in the basement. It actually made me really nervous throwing them around the backyard, especially when I remembered how casually we did it as children.
I’ll try to remember to post regular updates to the recalls list going forward!
