I’ve been very interested in these thermometers because it always seems like my little ones won’t sit still enough for under the arm, and the ear ones are never accurate.
I like that Exergen is offering something that seems easy to use… and their FAQ page has good info for making sure you’re using the thermometer correctly. I also like that there is a rebate available.

My 2 yr old Squirms when I try and take her temp. under her arm. and Our thermomoter takes almost 5 minutes for a read-out! Ughh. and the one we have that takes about 1 minute it broken. I want this one SO BAD! Thanks

The reason it is so accurate: The temporal artery thermometer scans the forehead area for the temporal artery and it is almost impossible to miss the artery during a scan.

I have been eye-ballin’ this thermometer for awhile now. It looks so cool!
The one thing I like about the company, other than that it is based in American, is that their FAQs about the thermometer, especially where it talks about concerns over things that can affect the temperature reading like the air tempurature. It sounds like a real high-tech way to take tempuratures.

A few of the things I like about Exergen: 1. that their website is full of information on their products (consumer, medical, vet) 2. they let you know where you can purchase (online/in stores) 3. they offer a rebate and you can check the status of your rebate online (I am always wondering about my rebate statuses) 4. the Exergen TermporalScanner itself (that it is easy to use, accurate, and noninvasive). Yes, it is sensitive to ambient temperature, which is part of the reason it is so accurate. But, as long as the thermometer is in approximately the same ambient temperature as the individual whose temperature is being taken, you don’t have to be concerned.

Any covering, hair, hat, etc. will prevent the heat from dissipating, and would cause the reading to be falsely high. This also applies if one side of the head is into a pillow. I think this is a great product and much better to use than nthe ear ones.

So it is easy to find one since they are sold so many places! This is a great, easy to use, accurate product!
