Every week we go to a local playdate with the kids. It’s a fantastic time to meet with other folks and wear the kids out for naptime. But finding playdates can be a difficult thing, especially when you are new to an area. Here’s the service for you!
Justplaydates.ca was started by a mom who loved taking her son to playdates and found it hard to meet other locals. She decided that other parents would find it just as hard to connect so started a site that used a postal code database covering all of Canada. She also didn’t limit the site to only moms. Dads, grandparents, fosterparents and any other person caring for a young child can attend a playdate! As socialization of children is so important no-one should be left out and Justplaydates is open to every type of child and family.
The site is completely free and the only thing asked of members is that they host at least one playdate a year in a child safe area of their choosing. As members meet in groups the site is completely safe; but playdate guidelines are in place for those members who have never hosted a playdate. The site spreads almost entirely by word of mouth so if Justplaydates isn’t for you, tell others about it. Check them out!
