It’s inevitable that you will be stuck indoors for some days during the month of April. Which can only mean that you will break out all the craft projects you can think of to keep the kids busy. I’m sure this will include lots of coloring, which brings us to our next point.
Color A Smile is a non-profit organization that spreads smiles with cheerful drawings. Since 1986 they have been collecting crayon drawings from children. Every month they mail thousands of these original crayon ‘masterpieces’ throughout the United States. The majority of the drawings are mailed to senior citizens but they are happy to send ’smiles’ to anyone who would like them.
So, if you’d like to brighten up someone’s day just follow these instructions:
- Choose cheerful, colorful themes. (Avoid “Get Well”)
- Do not put a date on any drawing.
- Use crayon, marker, or colored pencil.
- Do not use glitter, paint or paste.
- Sign the front of the drawing with your first name andage.
- Use one side of the paper only. (No fold over cards)
- Use standard 8 1/2 X 11 letter size paper.
- Mail completed drawings to: Color A Smile
