Summer Infant Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor

February 21, 2008

The other day we walked in on our 13 week old because we were ‘hearing’ him rustle around on our monitor.  Even though we were extremely quiet going into the room…he still woke up.  It was so irritating because he was asleep prior to us entering the room.  That’s when we began the search for a practical solution to solve this problem.  A day or two later, we received an email from one of our readers recommending we feature the Summer Infant Video Monitor.  The perfect solution!

Summer Infant Monitor

The Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor from Summer Infant is a truly portable unit that allows parent’s to hear and see their baby while moving around the house. It’s ideal for checking on baby without waking him or her. The Summer Infant Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor also has the standard lights that show baby’s level of activity. Nighttime LED lights on the camera make the baby fully visible both day and night. The portable video monitor even comes with rechargeable batteries, an AC adapter, mounting kit, 1.8” LCD screen, a belt clip, and kickstand for extra convenience.

If you encounter the same problem that we do, we highly recommend you check this popular baby product out.  Click HERE for more details.

something i forgot to mention in my recommendation is how awesome their customer support was. my monitor broke just a little and they completely replaced it, no questions asked, no expense at all on my part. the only kicker is that you have to replace it within the 12 month warrenty. i wrote about it somewhere on my blog but i can’t find it. anyway, 2 huge thumbs up for the video monitor. we LOVE ours :)

I have this monitor and I do like it a lot. However, it really lets you hear every little sound and sometimes it keeps me up at night. I can hear my baby girl breathe if I listen closely enough.

We have this monitor and love it! We purchased it a month before our baby was born, so to test it out we used it on our puppy who was just beginning to get free reign of the house at night! It was a great way to make sure he wasn’t chewing the couch or peeing on the carpet! I’m sure the same will be said of our son in a few months when he’s mobile! Haha!

DO NOT leave the handheld plugged in if you plan to leave it in bed with you. I set mine down beside me a few nights ago with it plugged in because it was dying, and the thing got so hot that the front melted away. The screen does not have an automatic off feature like it does when it is on battery power. If it is plugged in, and you turn the screen on, it gets hot enough to melt plastic.
